Aug-2026: Day One of India’s First Author Based Photography Blog Platform, Launched Alongside a Celebration of Friendship Day
Every community has a story. Some stories are captured through photographs, while others deserve a place of their own to be told, shared, and remembered.
On 2nd August 2026, ShutterSociety.HYD took a special step in that direction. A vision that began with bringing photographers together now found a new home through India’s first author-based photography blog platform, where photographers could become authors and share their stories with the world.
And what made the day even more special was celebrating Friendship Day with the very people who made this journey possible. A day of friendship, new beginnings, and a platform built to give every photographer a voice.
The idea of creating a dedicated blog platform was not something that came up overnight. Back in December 2025, when we announced the next version of ShutterSociety.HYD, we made a promise to our community. Along with taking our community to the next level, we wanted to create a platform where members could become authors, build their own profiles, and share their photography journeys, experiences, and stories with the world. It was a commitment we made publicly, but the idea had been growing in our minds long before that announcement.
Being a blogger myself, I have always believed in the power of written stories. A WhatsApp status, an Instagram story, or a short video may receive attention for a day or two, but a well written article can remain accessible for years.
During our journey, I had the opportunity to meet hundreds of passionate photographers and listen to their personal stories. Their first camera purchases, struggles, learning experiences, travel journeys, inspiration, and the reasons they started photography were all stories worth preserving. I strongly felt that these experiences deserved something more permanent than a social media post.
Some stories deserve to live longer than a moment.

I personally wanted every member to have a proper space where their stories could be organised, discovered, and accessed easily by anyone in the community. A place where a beginner could share their first photography experience, an experienced photographer could write about years of learning, and someone travelling across the country could document their journey through words and photographs.
By the middle of June 2026, I decided it was finally time to turn this long pending idea into reality. I started working on the website, finalising the WordPress setup, hosting, theme, design, categories, author profiles, and all the essential features.
But one important thought kept coming back to me. We had already completed 18 months of our community journey. If we were going to launch a platform on such an important day, why should it begin with an empty page?
I wanted the platform to open its doors with our story already written. Not just a website with a few introductory articles, but a complete record of what ShutterSociety.HYD had built since January 2025.
Every meetup, every photowalk, every university collaboration, every social initiative, our values, our mission, and the non commercial foundation on which the community was built needed to be documented.
A journey becomes a legacy when someone takes the time to preserve its stories.
What followed was one of the most demanding parts of the entire project. For nearly six to seven weeks, I spent day and night collecting information, revisiting photographs, arranging data, remembering individual events, and writing about every important chapter of our first 18 months.
I personally drafted the stories, going back through old photographs and records to make sure the details were not missed. Whenever I needed help remembering a particular meetup or moment, I reached out to Mr. Sai Tejeshwar Rao and Mr. Cherry Mokka, who helped me recall those experiences.

It was not simply about writing articles. It was about revisiting the entire journey and bringing those memories together in one place.
I wanted someone visiting the website years later to understand how the community started, how it grew, what we believed in, what we achieved, and most importantly, the people who made it possible.
Alongside this preparation, we also invited our members to become the first authors on the platform. We created the ShutterSociety Blogger Group and invited interested members who were ready to write their first articles.
I personally conducted screen sharing sessions and guided them through the process of creating an author profile, writing an article, adding photographs, and publishing their stories. Around 10 to 12 members completed their first articles and got them ready for launch.
Everything was being prepared behind the scenes. The website was still under maintenance mode, the articles were ready, the authors were waiting, and the final step was to make everything live on launch day.
A platform becomes meaningful when its people become the storytellers.

Initially, we planned to launch the website through an online Zoom meeting. But as I discussed the idea with different people, including Mr. Sai Tejeshwar Rao and Mr. Cherry Mokka, a new suggestion came up.
Why not make this an offline launch? After all, what we were building was something special for a photography community in India. It deserved a gathering where the people behind the journey could come together and celebrate the beginning.
We immediately started looking for a suitable venue partner. Luckily, we found Windmills Craftworks at Madhapur, a place that felt almost perfectly suited to the idea.
The newly launched cafe offered a beautiful environment surrounded by books, comfortable seating, and an inspiring atmosphere. It also had a high technology presentation room with a five screen setup, making it ideal for presenting the website to a gathering of photographers.
What made the venue even more special was its connection with reading, writing, and creativity. Hundreds of books surrounded the space, creating an atmosphere that naturally matched the purpose of our launch. The team at Windmills Craftworks was also happy to collaborate with us, offering a 15 percent discount on the lunch menu for our gathering. From the presentation arrangements to the seating and the surroundings, everything came together beautifully.

The right place can make a special beginning feel even more meaningful.
Once the venue and date were finalised, we realised that 2nd August 2026 was also Friendship Day. We did not need to think twice. What better occasion could there be to launch a platform built by a community of friends who had come together through photography?
We immediately announced the offline website launch and Friendship Day celebration to our members. As always, the response was incredibly warm. Around 80 members showed interest in joining us at Windmills Craftworks, and more than 100 people expressed their excitement about being part of this new beginning.
It was not just a website launch anymore. It was an opportunity for our community to meet, celebrate friendships, look back at our journey, and discover what was coming next.
As the day approached, preparations continued behind the scenes. The website and articles were ready, the authors had completed their first drafts, and the venue arrangements were in place. We also shared a Zoom meeting link for members who could not attend physically, ensuring they could still be part of the launch and witness the moment online.
The day finally arrived. On 2nd August 2026, members started gathering at Windmills Craftworks. The atmosphere was filled with conversations, greetings, photographs, and the excitement of meeting friends. Since it was Friendship Day, we also welcomed everyone with chocolates, adding a small but lovely touch to the celebration.
Before beginning the presentation, we made sure that members joining online through Zoom were also connected. We wanted everyone, whether present at the venue or watching from elsewhere, to feel included in this important milestone.

Friendship brought us together. A shared vision gave us another reason to celebrate.
It was finally time to introduce the platform.
I personally took everyone through the complete website, explaining how the idea had started, what we had built, and how members could become authors. I demonstrated the different sections, menus, categories, and author profiles.
I also opened several articles that had been prepared before the launch. These included our journey from the beginning, important photowalks and meetups, university collaborations, social giving back initiatives, our vision, core values, and the non commercial fundamentals of ShutterSociety.HYD.
I wanted everyone to understand that this was not simply another website. It was a place where the complete journey of our community would remain documented.

We also explained our LinkedIn presence and how members could use the platform to connect their professional identity with their passion for photography. We believe people should be able to proudly share not only what they do for a living but also what inspires them outside their profession. Our LinkedIn page was another step towards connecting photography with a wider professional world.
Throughout the presentation, we gave special attention to the people behind every story. Every meetup article carried the memories and contributions of the members and volunteers who had participated. We wanted their efforts to be recognised and their photographs and experiences to become part of the community’s permanent record.
Every photographer has a story. Every story deserves a place
One of the most exciting parts of the presentation was inviting our first authors to share their experiences. Around 10 to 12 members had already completed their first articles, and it was wonderful to see them step forward and speak about their work.

Ms. Chikita and Mr. Sai Tejeshwar Rao shared their articles and explained the stories behind them. For many members, this was their first experience of writing and publishing an article on a dedicated platform. Their willingness to take that first step was exactly what we wanted to encourage through this initiative.
We also invited Mr. Shankar Sir, one of our senior educators and photographers, to share some of his work. He presented photographs from his travels and street photography portfolio, explaining the stories and perspectives behind some of his frames.
His photographs and insights were appreciated by everyone present. It was a wonderful opportunity for members to learn from an experienced photographer and see how a photograph can carry a story beyond what appears inside the frame.
The session also opened the floor to other members. A few people who were not among the first authors came forward and shared their experiences with ShutterSociety.HYD. They spoke about their journey with the community, the friendships they had built, and how the atmosphere had made them feel welcomed. Some described it as more than a photography group, something closer to a family where people support and encourage one another.
A community grows stronger when every voice finds a place.

And then came the moment everyone had been waiting for.
We invited the women members of our community to come forward for the official website launch. It felt important that the final step of making the platform live should be shared with the people who had been part of our journey.
They turned off maintenance mode, and within a few seconds, the complete platform went live.
All the articles, author profiles, and stories that had been prepared behind the scenes were now accessible to everyone.
The room filled with cheers, excitement, applause, and celebration. After weeks of planning, writing, editing, collecting photographs, and preparing everything, the moment had finally arrived.
What had started as a promise to our members in December 2025 had become a living platform on 2nd August 2026.
India’s first author based photography blog platform by a photography community was officially live.

After the launch, everyone gathered for lunch. The conversations continued around the tables, with members discussing the website, appreciating the articles, and asking how they could start writing their own stories. Many were already thinking about their first article, what photographs they could share, and how to create their author profiles.
The celebration also continued beyond the presentation room. The surroundings at Windmills Craftworks offered something special for everyone. With hundreds of books arranged around the premises, members started exploring the collection, picking up different books, reading a few pages, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Some members spent time capturing portraits against the beautiful backgrounds, while others explored the bookshelves and photographed one another. There were candid photographs, individual portraits, group pictures, and plenty of casual conversations. A few members simply enjoyed sitting with a book, taking a break from the usual photography conversations and experiencing the place in their own way.
The combination of books, creativity, photography, friendship, and a new beginning made the venue feel like a natural extension of the launch itself. The gathering continued well into the evening, with members enjoying the surroundings and making the most of the day together.
Not every beautiful frame needs a camera. Sometimes, it is simply a room full of friends.
Looking back, this launch was not simply about introducing a website. It was about adding an entirely new vertical to our community. Until now, we had been bringing photographers together through photowalks, meetups, workshops, collaborations, and social initiatives.
Now, we have created another space where their experiences, knowledge, photographs, and personal journeys can live for years.
We have always believed that a photography community should be about more than the number of members or the photographs shared on social media. It should create opportunities for people to learn, express themselves, inspire others, and leave something meaningful behind.
With this platform, every member has an opportunity to become an author and contribute to a growing collection of stories.

There was one more special moment during the celebration. Mr. Nagesh brought three beautiful bouquet arrangements and presented them to the three founders, Mr. Sai Tejeshwar Rao, Mr. Cherry Mokka, and me, in appreciation of the initiative and the launch of the platform.
It was a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us.
We also want to recognise the people who worked behind the scenes to make the day happen. From coordinating the venue and welcoming members to capturing photographs, handling arrangements, and supporting the event, their contribution made a real difference.
A heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sai Tejeshwar Rao, Mr. Cherry Mokka, Mr. Nagesh, Ms. Chikita, Mr. Chandu, Mr. Ilyas, Mr. Hardik, and Mr. Sandeep for their support and involvement throughout the launch day.
We are equally thankful to the entire ShutterSociety.HYD community, the first authors, everyone who joined us at Windmills Craftworks, and those who participated through Zoom. Your presence and encouragement made this beginning even more special.
And to Windmills Craftworks, thank you for welcoming our community and providing such an inspiring space for this milestone.
The platform is new, but the stories belong to all of us.
What makes this beginning especially meaningful is that the platform is not built around a few selected photographers. It is open to the people who make this community what it is. Whether you are a beginner with your first camera, a smartphone photographer, a street photographer, a traveller, or someone with years of experience, your story matters.
From our first photowalk in January 2025 to building a growing photography community, from university collaborations to social initiatives, and now to launching our own author based platform, every step has added another dimension to our journey.
We are proud of how far we have come, but even more excited about the stories that are yet to be written.
Photographs capture moments. Stories preserve journeys. Together, they make a legacy.
ShutterSociety.HYD. One Community. One Family. Infinite Stories...
