June – 2026: ABN Andhra Jyothi Newspaper Features ShutterSociety.HYD’s Pochampally Photography Trip
Every media recognition is a reminder that meaningful stories deserve to reach a wider audience. We are proud to share that ABN Andhra Jyothi Newspaper featured ShutterSociety.HYD’s Pochampally Photography Trip, recognizing our community’s efforts to document Telangana’s rich heritage, celebrate its skilled artisans, and promote cultural storytelling through photography.

We are honored to share that ABN Andhra Jyothi, one of Telangana’s most respected and widely followed Telugu newspapers, featured ShutterSociety.HYD’s Pochampally Photography Trip. Having our community’s work recognized by such a renowned media organization is both a proud milestone and an encouragement to continue documenting the stories, traditions, and cultural heritage that make Telangana truly unique.

The newspaper highlighted our one day photography visit to Bhoodan Pochampally, organized in collaboration with the Telangana Tourism Department, where around 40 photographers came together to explore one of India’s most celebrated handloom villages.
The feature showcased how our members documented the complete Ikat weaving process, from preparing and dyeing the threads to the intricate craftsmanship of the handloom weavers. Through photography, the visit celebrated the dedication of local artisans while helping preserve and promote Telangana’s rich textile heritage for a wider audience.
A camera captures a moment, a community gives it purpose, and the media helps that story inspire countless more.
ShutterSociety.HYD is a non commercial photography community built on the belief that photography can inspire learning, preserve culture, and bring people together. Through free photowalks, workshops, heritage walks, and collaborations like this one with the Telangana Tourism Department, we encourage photographers to become storytellers who document the people, traditions, and places that make Telangana special.
Beyond photography, we are equally committed to Giving Back. Whenever we are welcomed into someone’s home, workplace, or personal space, we believe it is our responsibility to express our gratitude with respect and kindness.
During our Pochampally Photography Trip, we returned printed photographs and gifted Karachi Fruit Biscuits to the artisans as a heartfelt token of appreciation for sharing their craft and welcoming us into their world. It was never an act of charity, but a small gesture of respect, ensuring that every journey leaves behind not only beautiful photographs, but also meaningful human connections and lasting smiles.
