Jan – 2026: Our First Bike Road Trip to Pargi, Telangana
Photography often brings people together at a destination. This time, it was the journey itself that became the experience. In January 2026, a small group of ShutterSociety.HYD members set out on our very first bike road trip, discovering that some of the best memories are created long before reaching the destination.
The idea for this trip was born during our First Birthday Celebration on 4th January 2026. While talking in small groups after the meetup, several members suggested that we should plan a bike ride together. Even after returning home, many of us continued receiving calls from members who were excited about the idea and wanted to make it happen soon.
We loved the enthusiasm, but we also knew there was one practical challenge.
Managing a very large group of motorcycles on public roads would not be easy or safe. Instead of limiting registrations, we decided on a simple approach. We planned the ride to Pargi, around 60 kilometres from Hyderabad, announced it only two days in advance, and intentionally scheduled it on a working day instead of a weekend. This naturally kept the group small while giving everyone who could make it an opportunity to join.
Our intention was never to avoid or limit anyone from joining. As organizers, every rider’s safety and the smooth coordination of the entire trip were our responsibility. For road trips like these, we felt it was better to keep the group naturally manageable rather than gather a very large convoy, allowing everyone to enjoy the ride safely and comfortably.
Even then, 16 passionate members confirmed their participation, with a few even taking leave from work just to be part of the ride.
Some journeys begin with planning. The best ones begin with excitement.
Located in Telangana’s Vikarabad district, Pargi is well known for its scenic open landscapes, rolling countryside, and the long rows of towering wind turbines that have become one of its most recognizable sights. The peaceful roads leading towards Pargi make it a favourite destination for many weekend riders from Hyderabad.
Early that morning, everyone gathered at my home before starting the journey. We kept the beginning simple, serving tea, biscuits, and fresh fruits while everyone arrived, greeted one another, and prepared their riding gear. After a quick briefing and a few photographs, our engines came to life and our very first community bike road trip officially began.
The ride itself quickly became the highlight of the day.
Every few kilometres, someone would spot a beautiful road, an interesting landscape, or perfect morning light, and naturally the entire group would stop. Cameras came out, drones went up, helmets came off, and another round of photographs, videos, and laughter began.
Somewhere along the way, we stopped for breakfast before continuing our journey towards Pargi, enjoying every kilometre just as much as the destination itself.
By late morning, we finally reached Pargi.
Surrounded by giant wind turbines, open landscapes, and fresh air, we spent the next few hours simply enjoying the place. Some members climbed the nearby hill, while others found quiet spots beneath the trees to relax and talk. Cameras remained busy throughout the visit as portraits, candid moments, drone photographs, and group pictures continued one after another.
The towering wind turbines created a spectacular backdrop, making every photograph feel unique.
Between photography sessions, conversations flowed naturally about travel, cameras, future road trips, and countless other ideas that only passionate photographers seem capable of discussing for hours.
The best conversations are often the ones shared without looking at the time.
By around two o’clock in the afternoon, we began our ride back towards Hyderabad.
Before reaching the city, we stopped once again for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Just like every ShutterSociety.HYD meetup, the conversations continued around the dining table. Stories from the ride, photography discussions, future travel plans, and plenty of laughter made lunch feel like another chapter of the journey rather than the ending.
Around five in the evening, everyone safely reached home, carrying not only hundreds of photographs and videos but also countless memories from our very first bike road trip together.
One funny thing I realized during the ride was that photographers never really stop being photographers.
Even while riding, someone was always slowing down to photograph another rider, recording cinematic videos, or looking for the next interesting frame. For photographers, every road becomes a photo opportunity, and perhaps that’s exactly how it should be.
A photographer doesn’t wait to reach the destination. Every mile becomes a frame.
Our first bike road trip proved that ShutterSociety.HYD was growing in more ways than one. While photography continued to bring us together, it was the friendships, shared experiences, and simple moments along the journey that made every outing truly memorable. This ride to Pargi became another beautiful chapter in our growing community story, and hopefully the first of many more road trips together.
